CIRC Offerings

The California International Reggio Center offers professional development opportunities, hosts roundtable conversations and research groups, and organizes events. Sessions held at La Scuola International School are an opportunity for educators to be inspired by the school’s learning environment, experience pedagogy in action, and deepen your understanding of the Reggio Emilia Approach.

Research

CIRC, in collaboration with Reggio Children, is currently engaged in the research project “Drawing to Learn,” involving schools from the bay area (Seven Hills School, All People’s School, Cypress School, Presidio Knolls School, Scandinavian School) through December 2026. The research explores drawing as a tool for thinking, learning, communication, and the construction of knowledge. The process will be documented throughout the project, with the research documentation to be shared in 2027.

Building on the questions, observations, and discoveries emerging from Drawing to Learn, we are currently developing the “Intento Progettuale” for the next phase of research, which will begin in January 2027. This new “Intento” will extend and deepen the work, opening new questions and possibilities around learning, creativity, and educational practice.
